Back To Add One More...
I'm busy trying to catch up from being on vacation (and yes, my previous entry really was at 1:14 am...isn't that when the brain is the most creative? or is it the time when kids are asleep and I have minimal distractions?) but I had to come back and add one more image to show off K's incredible eyes. They were the first thing I noticed when I met K...a rich amber color. He says no one comments on them except for his mom and I have a hard time believing that one!

Seniors Rock!
Who would have thought photographing seniors would be so much fun? We checked out tons of locations, talked about music, and...it was just a little hot out too. But the results are so worth it!
And N, if you want to share your secret to raising such a seriously awesome almost 18 year old, I'm all ears. :)

Capturing that Image
Capturing that image is what I love! Seriously, it's such an awesome feeling (and I felt that with today's session). Almost a natural high. And almost as soon as I have click the shutter and capture that image, I start concentrating on the next. Aiming for perfection. Searching for the sweet light. Waiting for the exact expression. The glimmer in the eye. The perfect environment to showcase your subject.
As always searching for the connection...that asks us as a viewer to linger for just a bit longer. Will I post images that show what I am talking about?

Wind and Waves
There's something strangely peaceful and calming about a windy day at the beach with the waves crashing loudly against the sandy shore...almost as if to drown out the busyness of our lives, demanding us to savor the moment.

Refreshing Enthusiasm
I have so many other things I should be working on...but I just couldn't pull myself away from images of these darling girls. Their bond was palpable. Their enthusiasm, refreshing. This is the kind of connection I love to capture.

And maybe after seeing these images their dad won't think shooting into the sun was such an odd idea after all. ;)

The Traveling Chair
Grandma purchased this gorgeous chair on her latest travel adventure. It's just perfect. I can't wait to use it again.

Bittersweet
The blood tests are complete. The training is finished. The background checks have been cleared. So I am now an official volunteer for Spectrum Health hospital.
The neonatal unit has been calling my name for some time and now I can utilize my photography skills to help the families going through a difficult time in their lives.
Starting next month, I (along with another photographer) will be visiting the neonatal unit several times a month to offer my time and skills in the hope that I will create memories that give hope, give comfort, give peace.

Vacation
Kids are napping...well, sort of. I'm on vacation. The weather is better than perfect and my pinot grigot is nicely chilled. So what the heck, I guess I'll start a blog.
